How To

Follow these step-by-step instructions to get the most out of Noted.

How to Sign In to Noted

Noted uses Google Sign-In for secure authentication. You'll need a Google account to use the app.

1

Open the Noted app

Launch Noted from your Android home screen or app drawer. You'll see the welcome screen on first launch.

2

Tap "Continue with Google"

On the sign-in screen, tap the "Continue with Google" button. A Google account selector will appear.

3

Select your Google account

Choose the Google account you want to use with Noted. If you have multiple accounts, select the one you prefer for your Noted data.

4

Review and grant permissions

Review the permissions Noted is requesting (basic profile and email). Tap "Allow" to proceed.

5

You're in!

You'll be taken to your Noted home screen. Your account is created and cloud sync is active. Start adding tasks, notes, or reminders right away.

Tip: If you see a "Sign in failed" error, ensure your device has a stable internet connection and that your Google account is properly set up on your Android device (Settings → Accounts → Google).

How to Sync Google Calendar

Sync your Google Calendar to see events in the Noted Timeline. This is optional and you can revoke access at any time.

1

Open Settings in Noted

Tap the profile icon or menu icon at the top of the Noted home screen, then tap "Settings".

2

Find "Calendar Sync"

In Settings, scroll to the "Integrations" or "Calendar" section and tap "Google Calendar Sync".

3

Tap "Connect Google Calendar"

Tap the connect button. A Google account selector will appear, followed by a permissions screen.

4

Grant calendar read access

Review the permission — Noted only requests read-only access to view your calendar events. Tap "Allow" to proceed.

5

View your calendar in the Timeline

Return to the home screen and open the Timeline view. Your Google Calendar events will now appear alongside your tasks.

To disconnect: Go to Settings → Calendar Sync → Disconnect, or visit myaccount.google.com/permissions and remove Noted's access.

How to Enable Notifications

Noted sends local notifications for reminders and meeting alerts. Here's how to make sure you receive them.

1

Allow notification permission in-app

When you set your first reminder in Noted, the app will ask for notification permission. Tap "Allow" to enable notifications.

2

If you denied the permission

If you accidentally denied notifications, go to your Android Settings → Apps → Noted → Notifications, and toggle notifications on.

3

On Android 12+ — Exact Alarm permission

For precise reminder timing on Android 12 and later, Noted may ask for "Schedule Exact Alarms" permission. Grant this in Settings → Apps → Noted → Permissions to ensure reminders fire at exactly the right time.

4

Disable battery optimization for Noted

On some Android devices, battery optimization can prevent reminders from firing. Go to Settings → Battery → Battery Optimization → Noted → Don't Optimize for the most reliable notifications.

5

Test a reminder

Set a reminder in Noted for 1–2 minutes from now to verify notifications are working correctly on your device.

How to Restore Your Data

Your Noted data is backed up to the cloud automatically. Restoring it on a new device or after reinstalling is easy.

1

Install Noted on your new device

Download and install Noted - Day Planner from the Google Play Store on your new Android device.

2

Sign in with the same Google account

Open Noted and sign in with the exact same Google account you used previously. This is the key to restoring your data.

3

Wait for sync to complete

After signing in, Noted will automatically sync your tasks, notes, lists, and reminders from the cloud. This may take a few seconds to a minute depending on how much data you have.

4

Your data is restored

All your tasks, notes, smart lists, and settings will be restored and ready to use.

Important: You must sign in with the same Google account to restore your data. Data is account-specific and cannot be transferred between different Google accounts.

How to Delete Your Account

You can delete your Noted account at any time. This action is permanent and will remove all your data.

1

Open Noted Settings

In the Noted app, tap your profile icon or the menu, then navigate to "Settings".

2

Tap "Account"

In Settings, tap on the "Account" section to see account management options.

3

Tap "Delete Account"

Scroll to the bottom and tap "Delete Account". A confirmation dialog will appear.

4

Confirm deletion

Read the confirmation message carefully. Tap "Delete Permanently" to confirm. This action cannot be undone.

Frequently Asked Questions

This is usually caused by one of three things: (1) Notification permission is disabled — go to Android Settings → Apps → Noted → Notifications and enable them. (2) Battery optimization is restricting Noted — go to Settings → Battery → Battery Optimization → Noted → "Don't Optimize". (3) On Android 12+, you may need to grant the "Schedule Exact Alarms" permission. Go to Settings → Apps → Noted → Permissions and enable it.
First, ensure you've enabled Calendar Sync in Noted Settings and granted the calendar read permission when prompted. If events still don't show, try: (1) Pull down to refresh the Timeline view. (2) Go to Settings → Calendar Sync → Disconnect, then reconnect. (3) Check that your device has an active internet connection. (4) Verify at myaccount.google.com/permissions that Noted has calendar access. Contact support if the issue persists.
Install Noted on your new phone and sign in with the same Google account you used on your old phone. Your data is stored in the cloud and will sync automatically after you sign in. The sync typically completes within a few seconds for most users.
Try these steps in order: (1) Force stop the app — go to Android Settings → Apps → Noted → Force Stop, then reopen. (2) Clear the app cache — Settings → Apps → Noted → Storage → Clear Cache. (3) Update Noted to the latest version from Google Play. (4) Restart your phone. (5) If the issue persists after these steps, please email support@holokraftinc.com with your device model and Android version — we'll investigate and push a fix as soon as possible.
Currently, Noted does not have a trash/recycle bin feature. Once a task is deleted, it is removed from both your device and the cloud. We understand this is an important feature and a trash/undo functionality is on our roadmap. For now, we recommend taking care when using the delete action. If this is critical for you, please let us know at support@holokraftinc.com.
We love feature requests! You can submit feature requests by: (1) Emailing support@holokraftinc.com with the subject "Feature Request: [your idea]". (2) Opening a GitHub issue at github.com/holokraftinc. (3) Leaving a review on Google Play and mentioning the feature you'd like. All feature requests are read and considered when planning our roadmap.
Yes. Uninstalling Noted removes the local copy of your data from your device, but your data remains safely stored in the cloud (Supabase) linked to your Google account. Simply reinstall Noted, sign in with the same Google account, and all your data will sync back to your device.
